New Videos: Towards a Multilingual Utopia

A recording is now available of our conference for UNESCO International Mother Language Day 2024 ‘Towards a Multilingual Utopia: How can knowledge lead to action?’, with contributions from:

  • Language teachers Tahera Khanam and Hind Gaily (Manchester) and Sophie Gavrois (Birmingham), moderated by Dr Ian Cushing
  • UNESCO City of Literature coordinators Joakim Albrektson and Hermosa Amor Aceveda Segerhammar (Gothenburg), Ernst Bruinsma (Leeuwarden), and City Poet Anjum Malik (Manchester), moderated by Ivan Wadeson
  • Language activists Fathi Salem Abouzakhar (Triploi), Anastasiia Tambovtseva-Koval (Bucharest) and Prof Adam Schembri (Global Coalition for Languages), moderated by Prof Yaron Matras

The conference took place on 21 February 2024 and was organised in partnership with MACFEST and the Aston Centre for Applied Linguistics.
